Introduction
Hello, My name is Jex Arzayus. I am an artist, art teacher, advocate, and visionary. I teach all forms of art mediums including painting using watercolor, acrylic, oil, as well as drawing both life and cartooning. I teach sculpture using mixed media, clay, plaster, and found objects. I also teach media arts, film making, documentary and narrative, website design, graphic design. I have led students in large scale projects such as mural paintings, documentary movies and large scale metal sculpture for public display. This year I taught Drama and Stage Craft and Co taught Music. I have worked with many diverse youth from all cultures and backgrounds. I also work as a youth outreach worker for Hope Street, an organization that works with homeless and highly mobile youth. I teach art using a project based learning approach, student interests and local and aspiring artist influences to create my daily lesson plans. While I believe in learning about the masters of the past, I also think women artists and artists of color and emerging artists have a great impact on our youth today and ignite a passion for learning.
Whether you're looking for a simple portrait or need help with a larger project, I would love to work with you. I am happy to come to you, or invite you to visit my conveniently located studio.
